Tributes ~ Condolences ~ Memories

I was fortunate to play golf with Barbara with the Fairway Swingers at Desert Mountain. Always a smile, and such a great swing! She will be missed! ~Patricia Raysich

What a lovely, positive person. And that is what we needed in the Fairway Swingers. Had such a good time playing with Barb over the years. I always hoped I would be in her group. I am very sad that we cannot come to the Memorial Wednesday. Jack fell while walking outside recently --- nothing is broken but he can't bear weight on a bruised hip and is in a wheel chair. With our loving wishes to the family for acceptance and gratitude for having Barbara as wife, mother, grandmother. ~Lela and Jack Bogardus

Barbara was one of those people who always found the bright side and her smile would light up a room. I have fond memories of many golf games when I wasn't playing that well, but she would not let me give up. She was always the one we thought of when we needed one more to make our foursome for our annual Biltmore tournament. Joe and I feel fortunate to have spent time with her and Ted celebrating holidays, vacations, and their life milestones. Barbara was a very special friend and will be truly missed. -- Fran and Joe Burick ~Joe and Fran Burick

We will always remember Barbara for her brilliant blue eyes and her infectious laugh which always made us laugh along. We will always treasure her friendship. Barbara was a one of a kind and a treasured friend to all of us who knew her. Mary and Dan McSweeney ~Mary McSweeney

"Afterglow" (for my dear friend Barbara) I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the way, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, Of happy memories that I have when now my if is done. ~Louise Marino

Barbara was such a kind and caring lady and had a smile that lit up a room. I was fortunate to work with her a few years while on the National Kiwi Board. I will miss her! My condolences to her family and friends. ~Shirley Watters

It was very sad to hear of the passing of my good friend, Barbara. We met in 1958, when we became classmates, in the first class to train at the new American Airlines Stewardess College in Ft. Worth, Texas In 1980, Barbara became the National President of The Kiwi Club, an organization of former and current American Airlines Stewardesses and Flight Attendants. I was honored that she asked me to serve with her, as National Second Vice President, when someone resigned. Together in 2008, while living across country from each other, we planned and carried out, for all 1958 Stewardess classes, the celebration at the Houston Kiwi Convention of our 50 year anniversary from Stewardess College. Barbara made a wonderful video from pictures of all our flying days. At each Kiwi Convention, we have always made a special effort to do something special together or with our other 1958 Kiwi friends. Barbara will be greatly missed at our next Kiwi Convention in 2016 in San Francisco. May God comfort you in your loss! ~Jerry Ann Wheatley Piontkowski

She was a lovely sweet woman who spoke only good about all those around her. She will be missed! ~Pam Bailes
