Joy Pleasy (Hancock) Stolworthy, 84, of Scottsdale, died Monday, August 17th in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born April 8, 1931 in Orem, Utah, the daughter of Joseph L. and Phyllis (Lewis) Hancock. She married Reed L. Stolworthy, July 11, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She grew up in Orem, UT and spent most of her life in Topeka, KS and then spent her years of retirement in Scottsdale, AZ. She served in many callings in the LDS church, but what made her most special was that she didn't need to have a calling to be serving others. She served because it was just a part of who she was as a person. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Everyone that came along her path was guaranteed to feel loved and uplifted. Her name Joy represents exactly how she made people feel. Survivors include her husband, Reed L. Stolworthy of Scottsdale; four sons and one daughter, Reed (Kari) Randy Stolworthy of Tempe, Kevin (Teri) R. Stolworthy of Las Vegas, NV, Stacey (Melanie) J. Stolworthy of Wildomar, CA, Craig (Sheryl) J. Stolworthy of Peoria, Sandra Stolworthy of Scottsdale; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Charles J. Hancock of Mesa and Helen Carlson of Salem, UT. The viewing is at 9 a.m. and the funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 29th at the Desert Hills Ward/Stake Center, 6840 E.
