Tributes ~ Condolences ~ Memories

The Journey Home There’s a path that leads to a turn in the road, and we each much travel there, where the Father waits to take us home to the shelters of His care…Where happiness and peace and joy replace the tears and pain, and our loved ones rest in the arms of God to sweetly live again. Gone From My Sight I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" Thoughts Most people live their lives as if they end were always years away. They measure their days in love, laughter, accomplishments, and loss. There are moments of sunshine and storm. There are schedules, phone calls, careers, anxieties, joys, exotic things, favorite foods, romances, shame, and hunger. A person can be defined by clothing, the way they comb their hair, the shape of their torso, or even the company they keep. And even on the worst of days, each person has dreams about the future â€" dreams that sometimes come true. Such is life. Yet life can end in less time than it takes to draw one breath. ~Betty Walton

My Darling Husband, There are no words to express my sorrow at your passing to the next level of life. I have to believe that it is a better place than this one. Our life together these past thirty years was the best time in my life. You always told me it was your best too. You said I was the love of your life. I will miss you every hour of every day. You are the light of my life and we'll be together again one day. Your wife and soulmate, Betty ~Betty Walton
